Following trends in the US and worldwide, advertising spending in Australia is moving away from television and print media and onto the Internet. Merrill Lynch forecast that the Internet will be Australia's fastest-growing growing channel, with a 65% plus increase in advertising on the net yearly. Spending on online advertising in Australia last year reached over $620 million is growing.

Double Bay’s weekly markets on Thursday at Guilfoyle Park is becoming very popular for farm fresh and organic produce.

Walking around Double Bay always brings back memories of my childhood there.  I lived in Henrietta Street, now I live further up the hill in a bigger home.

Every Friday and Saturday night we went to the movies at the Hoyts Theatre  (now Woollworths). Sat in the same seats every time, Row F 21,22.23, I liked the aisle. The theatre was full every Saturday night and one had to book a week in advance.  Next to it was a Cahill's Restaurant, and as a teenager, I went there every Saturday night with my mates, always had their famous Caramel Ice Cream Cake for dessert, it was relatively cheap, then on to parties. 

I have so many pleasant memories as I walk through the Bay.  One of the reasons I returned to Sydney after a decade in the United States, was that I missed coffee at the Bay with my friends watching the passing parade.
